despite there being clear research on the effectiveness of various specific therapeutic modalities, research also suggests that the most important component of successful therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. it is important that every person who seeks counselling is supported by someone they feel comfortable and confident with. i welcome the opportunity to discuss whether i could be a fit for you.
the therapeutic modalities i utilize are: cognitive behavioural therapy (cbt), dialectical behavioural therapy (dbt)**, and solution-focused therapy. i am happy to discuss the therapeutic modality that may benefit you.
i offer free 30-minute consultations, giving you an opportunity to better understand if my online therapy services are a good fit for you.
**dbt is a specific model and therapeutic approach that i am not able to offer in its intended format through my practice, nor am i a certified dbt clinician. i have extensive training in dbt and offer what i call a "dbt informed" approach. i do not want to confuse the two, as in order to receive dbt therapy, it needs to be provided in the context in which it was intended. if you are seeking dbt therapy, i would be happy to discuss options available in ontario.
